Tanairy and her children are pictured with their new, used Honda Pilot. Tanairy was eligible to apply for a special car loan through the Family Loan Program of Danbury.

Tanairy’s transformational journey at Catholic Charities of Fairfield County began with Financial Education offered by the Family Loan Program of Danbury. Through this empowering initiative, she gained invaluable insights into budgeting and improved financial management. Armed with newfound knowledge and confidence, she was ready to take the next step towards providing her family with a better future.

With financial education under her belt, Tanairy was eligible to apply for a special car loan through the Family Loan Program. Unlike conventional loans, these car loans are not solely based on an applicant’s credit score, making them accessible to a wider range of individuals.

Tanairy’s application for a car loan was approved, granting her access to a $10,000 loan at a 5.5% interest rate. The car loan not only provided them with reliable transportation but also instilled a sense of pride and accomplishment, knowing that their hard work and dedication had paid off.

Tanairy’s family bid farewell to the days of relying on costly Uber rides and public transportation. With their new, used Honda Pilot, they now have the freedom to travel conveniently and independently, further enhancing their quality of life.

Family Loan Program of Danbury provides small, low interest loans to qualified applicants. We also provide Financial Education and Budget Counseling program to eligible applicants and anyone in need. Loans may be used to purchase a used car up to $10,000 for transportation to work, repair a car, security deposit funds and childcare costs. Financial education provides tools for self-sufficiency and ensures loan repayment and positive credit building. Loan amounts range from $500 – $10,000 with a 5.5% interest rate, regardless of credit score.
