SECURITY GUARD (PART-TIME)

Responsibilities include:  

  • Monitor café during meal services; 
  • Provide protection to guests, staff and volunteers; 
  • Enforce crowd control, defuse potentially volatile situations, and intervene and exit violators when necessary.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.   
  • Able to work to a flexible, seven-days/week schedule.

JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE

The Thomas Merton Center is a program of Catholic Charities of Fairfield County, Inc., one of the largest private social service providers in Connecticut for over 100 years.

The Thomas Merton Center, located in Bridgeport, CT, is seeking a part-time (20-25 hours/week) Junior Development Associate to increase awareness of its services and mission and to support its fundraising initiatives.  The Program is committed to providing a loving, safe and hope-filled community atmosphere that responds to the needs of its guests and residents and respects the dignity of each person.

Responsibilities & Abilities:

  • Increase awareness of TMC services and mission and build philanthropic support.
  • Manage the TMC donor data base through the input of timely and accurate information and generate responses to donors.
  • Assist the Director and Advisory Council members in their fundraising initiatives, streamlining tasks and managing events. 
  • Compose the quarterly newsletter in consultation with TMC staff and coordinate timely release to database participants. 
  • Assist TMC Director and Development officer in compiling grant submission information. 
  • Assist the Office Manager in day-to-day operational tasks of TMC.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects/deadlines simultaneously with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage volunteers/intern help.
  • Ability to work with all constituent groups, including staff, advisory council members, volunteers, donors, program participants and other supporters.

Education, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience.
  • Grant management experience and understanding of basic financial principles, a plus.
  • Administrative and fundraising experience, a plus.
  • Independent self-starter/creative problem solver who can work easily in team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal/written/organizational skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Raiser’s Edge required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Program Supervisor – Meals on Wheels

Catholic Charities is seeking a full-time Program Supervisor for its Meals on Wheels program delivering to homes in Norwalk and Stamford. The position is based in Stamford, CT.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the orderly and efficient delivery of daily meals to enrolled MOW clients, ensuring that meal delivery protocols are followed and that deliveries meet contractual and regulatory requirements, with special attention to CHCPE.
  • Responsible for the supervision, training and evaluation of staff of drivers. 
  • Oversee fleet management of agency vehicles.
  • Complete necessary documentation and required reports to CCFC, SWCAA and Billing Service.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION, SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in elderly nutrition field required.
  • Experience supervising and managing staff teams required.
  • Computer proficiency: e-mail, intranet and Microsoft word is required.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, changing environment with the capacity to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.

Drivers – Meals on Wheels Senior Nutrition Program (Part-Time, Per Diem) Stamford/Norwalk, CT

Catholic Charities of Fairfield County is seeking reliable and conscientious part-time and per diem drivers to deliver weekday meals in Stamford and Norwalk.

Agency vehicle is provided for deliveries. Qualified candidates are required to deliver meals in accordance with agency policies and regulatory standards.
