Case Manager-Housing

Catholic Charities of Fairfield County is seeking an experienced, motivated individual for a full-time Case Manager position in its Housing Department in Bridgeport, CT. Qualified candidates will be responsible for implementing CCFC’s strategic mission through the core function of person-centered client support which will include, but be not limited to: assessment, goal planning, service referral, housing coordination, and advocacy.

Applicants must have a Bachelor Degree in Human Services or related field and relevant work experience.

Experience in work with chronically homeless individuals having disabilities, extensive criminal histories, substance abuse and co-occurring disorders is preferred.

Advanced communication and problem-solving skills, valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, proof of current registration and insurance, experience in data management and reporting required.

IMMIGRATION SERVICES OFFICE – PROGRAM ASSISTANT

Catholic Charities’ Immigration Services (CCIS) provides high-quality immigration legal services to low-income immigrants and their families and engages in public education, training and community outreach in order to promote justice for all newcomers and conditions for their full participation in American society. We are seeking someone interested in working part-time (25 hours/week) to perform the following:
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Under the guidance of an Accredited Representative, provide technical assistance to immigrants and their families on various applications for naturalization, family reunification, adjustment of status and the applications for the pending expansion of Executive Action benefits.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Ensure day-to-day operations through scheduling, client intake and initial case priority assessment.
• Provide general administrative and clerical support including mailing, scanning, faxing and copying, collection of services fees, deposits with accounting and recordkeeping for statistical analysis, etc.
• Become familiar with federal immigration policy and laws.
• Demonstrate commitment to Catholic Social Teachings on Immigration and our agency’s Mission Statement (required)

EDUCATION/TRAINING:
Two-year Associate’s degree minimum; 4-year college Bachelor’s degree preferred. Paralegal or previous BIA accreditation is a plus.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
• Possess excellent and effective writing, organization and communication skills;
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks;
• Computer skills and ability to complete paperwork efficiently;
• Experience with low-income and culturally-diverse populations (preferred);
• Bi-lingual oral and written skills in Spanish/English (preferred).

Community Support Specialist

Position Summary:

Catholic Charities of Fairfield County is seeking an experienced, motivated leader to join its senior management team in the full time, Director of Housing position.

The Director of Housing is responsible for the administration of housing programs and services, including permanent supportive housing and transitional housing for formerly homeless adults and families.

This position is responsible for a budget in excess of $1 million and is accountable for contract applications and renewals to government funders. The Director of Housing represents Catholic Charities on external housing committees and effectively collaborates with the regional Continuum of Care, local/state/federal entities, and other community partners. The position supervises key personnel and oversees all program operations, including staff development, performance outcome reporting, funding audits, data management, productivity, and consumer satisfaction. The Director of Housing is also responsible for implementing new initiatives and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Masters Degree in Social Work or related discipline.
  • Minimum of five (5) years supervisory experience, and three (3) years of progressive management experience in government-funded services.
  • Working knowledge of government contracts, audits, compliance requirements & program budgets.
  • Strong leadership skills required. Ability to motivate and direct staff to ensure that services meet quality standards.
  • Ability to work within complex systems of care and effectively communicate regulatory requirements to program staff and senior management.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and problem-solving skills. Attention to detail.

Strongly Preferred:

  • Familiarity with Housing First and supportive housing services.

Certified HUD grants management system user, Licensed HMIS and DDaP user preferred.

Fundraising Manager (Part-time, contract position) – Catholic Charities of Fairfield County

Reporting to the Regional Director, this critical new role will assists with grant writing, development planning and implementation of strategic fundraising goals.    This position is a part-time independent contractor.  The role is critical to the success of the expansion of donor engagement in supporting efforts to those in need around Northern Fairfield County and Stamford.  

Requirements:

  • At least two years of non-profit fundraising/development experience preferred
  • Excellent written communication, research and organizational skills
  • Experience writing foundation and corporate grants preferred
  • Experience handling communications for the purposes of cultivating and soliciting individuals, foundations, or corporate support
  • Experience working with advisory/fundraising committees/boards
