AP Clerk – Catholic Charities of Fairfield County, Inc.

Catholic Charities of Fairfield County in Bridgeport, CT is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk.

Reporting to the Controller, the AP Clerk is responsible for the processing of all payables in “Financial Edge” accounting software. Responsibilities include:

  • the coding of invoices to the proper GL account code;
  • allocating invoices, when necessary, to the correct program code, and obtaining the required approvals for all invoices being paid;
  • communicate with outside vendors to reconcile invoice discrepancies;
  • responsible for end of year 1099 reporting;
  • daily mail processing, filing and general office duties.

Requirements: High school diploma plus two years of equivalent experience. Prior accounts payable experience is a must; prior experience with expense allocations a plus. Financial Edge/ Financial Edge NXT experience a plus.

Case Manager-Housing

Catholic Charities of Fairfield County is seeking an experienced, motivated individual for a full-time Case Manager position in its Housing Department in Bridgeport, CT. Qualified candidates will be responsible for implementing CCFC’s strategic mission through the core function of person-centered client support which will include, but be not limited to: assessment, goal planning, service referral, housing coordination, and advocacy.

Applicants must have a Bachelor Degree in Human Services or related field and relevant work experience.

Experience in work with chronically homeless individuals having disabilities, extensive criminal histories, substance abuse and co-occurring disorders is preferred.

Advanced communication and problem-solving skills, valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, proof of current registration and insurance, experience in data management and reporting required.

We are seeking someone interested in working part-time (25 hours/week) to perform the following:
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Under the guidance of an Accredited Representative, provide technical assistance to immigrants and their families on various applications for naturalization, family reunification, adjustment of status and the applications for the pending expansion of Executive Action benefits.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Ensure day-to-day operations through scheduling, client intake and initial case priority assessment.
• Provide general administrative and clerical support including mailing, scanning, faxing and copying, collection of services fees, deposits with accounting and recordkeeping for statistical analysis, etc.
• Become familiar with federal immigration policy and laws.
• Demonstrate commitment to Catholic Social Teachings on Immigration and our agency’s Mission Statement (required)

EDUCATION/TRAINING:
Two-year Associate’s degree minimum; 4-year college Bachelor’s degree preferred. Paralegal or previous BIA accreditation is a plus.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
• Possess excellent and effective writing, organization and communication skills;
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks;
• Computer skills and ability to complete paperwork efficiently;
• Experience with low-income and culturally-diverse populations (preferred);
• Bi-lingual oral and written skills in Spanish/English (preferred).

Fundraising Manager (Part-time, contract position) – Catholic Charities of Fairfield County

Reporting to the Regional Director, this critical new role will assists with grant writing, development planning and implementation of strategic fundraising goals.    This position is a part-time independent contractor.  The role is critical to the success of the expansion of donor engagement in supporting efforts to those in need around Northern Fairfield County and Stamford.
