Mary Beth and Bill Fessler Receiving the 2024 Founder’s Award

Mary Beth and Bill Fessler, longtime volunteers and pillars of the New Covenant Center community, were recently honored with the Founder’s Award.Their journey of service began nearly 15 years ago, sparked by a simple act of kindness: organizing a monthly serving day for the Order of Malta.

That seed blossomed into a movement of over 50 volunteers who now dedicate their time weekly to the food pantry, assisting guests, and even serving on the Center’s board.

Beyond meals, the Fesslers spearheaded the “Caring Souls to Warm their Soles” campaign, providing hundreds of winter necessities each year, each with a personalized note of encouragement from Mary Beth.

Their compassion extends to quiet acts of profound kindness, like furnishing a new home for a family facing eviction.

But serving at New Covenant Center is just one facet of their dedication. Mary Beth, a Nurse Practitioner with Americares, and Bill, a Norwalk dentist, also founded a dental clinic in Honduras.

The Fesslers’ selfless dedication has made an undeniable impact on the lives of countless individuals. Their well-deserved Founder’s Award is a testament to their unwavering commitment to serving others.
