Statement on Immigration Services Provided by Catholic Charities of Fairfield County

Catholic Charities agencies at the border are not responsible for immigration policy but they do care for vulnerable individuals and families once the Federal government has granted these individuals permission to enter the country. Catholic Charities has been providing these services for many years with Presidential Administrations of both parties. This work is not new.

Catholic Charities of Fairfield County is not involved working with migrants at the US Border. That work is being conducted by the local border agencies. However, we are very committed to our work with the Immigrant community here in Fairfield County many of whom are service industry workers who have been significantly disadvantaged by the COVID-19 crisis. We continue to provide care and critical services to all of the most vulnerable members of our community.
