Housing and homelessness
Homeless Outreach and Related Services
Danbury (Greater Danbury area)
Catholic Charities’ Homeless Outreach Services (HOS) is made up of support programs dedicated to serving individuals who are experiencing homelessness, at risk of becoming homeless, or have been identified as chronically homeless. HOS Assists over 120 homeless individuals and families every year of all ages, gender, race, and ethnicity. HOS case managers work closely with the other agencies in town ensuring that clients of the program receive appropriate referrals and timely services. The outreach workers employ creative and tailored solutions to each and every client they work with. The staff also serves as a liaison and educational resource to social service providers about homelessness services and the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) and the needs of homeless and at-risk clients.
• Our programs focus on meeting with homeless and at risk individuals and providing emergency service resources as needed.
• Our case managers engage with clients at the shelters, soup kitchens, on the streets, in the woods and under bridges.
• We provide access to benefits, food, clothing, medical, mental health, substance abuse and housing services.

Bethlehem House has once again opened its doors and welcomed new families, after recently renovating one of its houses that help homeless families get a new start.
A community ribbon-cutting ceremony was held to mark the new beginning not only for the refurbished house at 389 Jackson Avenue but for the many families who will be given an opportunity to begin a better life.
Bethlehem House is a program of Catholic Charities of Fairfield County that provides housing and support for up to 9 formerly homeless families.
So many wonderful things have been happening in our program over this first quarter of the year. Just look what we have been up to!
