  • Review guest questionnaires to identify individuals who have requested additional assistance.
  • Follow up with guests by phone or in person to better understand their needs and help determine appropriate next steps.
  • Connect guests with other Catholic Charities programs, including counseling, case management, housing assistance, financial education, immigration services, wellness and recovery services, and other supports.
  • Connect guests with outside community organizations when needed services are not available internally.
  • Provide hands-on assistance with applications for public benefits, housing resources, employment services, healthcare, transportation assistance, and other programs.
  • Educate guests about available resources and help them build the knowledge and confidence to access services independently whenever possible.
  • Develop a strong working knowledge of resources available throughout the Greater Danbury community.
  • Maintain an up-to-date resource directory for Morning Glory guests and staff.
  • Document guest contacts, referrals, and outcomes in agency databases.
  • Approach every guest interaction with compassion, dignity, respect, and an understanding of trauma-informed practices.

  • Experience working with individuals experiencing poverty, homelessness, food insecurity, mental health challenges, or other barriers to stability is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of community resources and public benefit programs is a plus, but we welcome candidates who are eager to learn.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to connect with individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds in a respectful, nonjudgmental manner.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining regular communication with a supervisor.
