2023 Founder’s Award Recipient Sarita Hanley
Catholic Charities of Fairfield County is delighted to announce the recipient of this year’s New Covenant Center Founder’s Award, Sarita Hanley. Established in 2016, this prestigious award pays tribute to individuals who have made remarkable contributions to our mission of hunger prevention and social services, creating a pathway towards a better life for those in need.
Sarita Hanley has been an instrumental force within our organization, dedicating her time and energy to various fundraising events as Chairperson. Over the past eight years, she has served on every event committee at New Covenant Center, demonstrating unwavering commitment and passion for our cause. Recognizing her invaluable dedication, former Board Chair Tom Kane extended an invitation for Sarita to join the Advisory Board, a role she embraced wholeheartedly two years ago.
Both Sarita and her husband, Greg, have been longstanding supporters and donors of the Center. Their generosity has made a tangible impact on our ability to serve the community effectively. Additionally, Sarita has volunteered at our center for many years, actively engaging with our clients and guests. In recent times, she has collaborated closely with Leisa Hinds Simpson, leveraging her skills to procure essential items and products for those we assist. Furthermore, Sarita has played a vital role in counseling and supporting our client testimonial speakers, ensuring they feel comfortable and confident when sharing their stories during our fundraisers. Her dedication extends even further as she takes on the role of videographer and interviewer, capturing the experiences of our clients and guests to raise awareness of their journeys.
Sarita Hanley exemplifies the spirit of selflessness and compassion that defines our community of volunteers, donors, and supporters. Her profound impact and tireless efforts have significantly contributed to advancing our mission.
