Morning Glory

Operating out of 11 Spring Street in Danbury, the Morning Glory Breakfast Program is conveniently located within the Dorothy Day Hospitality House. Morning Glory collaborates with other agencies to offer a safe and welcoming environment for those in need. Each day, we serve approximately 100 hot meals, totaling over 2,000 meals every month. There is no cost associated with meals or engagement with visiting agencies; all participation in services and programs remains completely voluntary.

Services

  • Serve hot and cold breakfast to the neediest in our community. Guests can enjoy in-door dining in shelter area from 7:30 am – 9:15 am during the cold winter months.
  • As of January 20th, 2025, Morning Glory Breakfast Program in collaboration with Dorothy Day Hospitality House, has begun providing indoor seating for our clients picking up breakfast. Clients can enjoy a warm, friendly and safe eating environment in what was previously the Dorothy Day shelter.
  • The Morning Glory Non-Food Market Place Pantry provides items such as cleaning products, paper goods and hygiene products. Clients can pick up items once a month.
  • Shower Program: Showers available at Dorothy Day on Wednesday and Sundays from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM

Marcos Jimenez joined Catholic Charities of Fairfield County in May 2024 and is the newest addition to our Morning Glory Breakfast and Market Place Pantry Programs. He has a passion for cooking and thrives when preparing meals for large groups. With a deep understanding of the needs within our community, he goes above and beyond to make a difference. Marcos is also innovative, constantly coming up with new ideas to ensure that everyone who visits MG is well fed.
