Volunteer Overview - Morning Glory
Morning Glory is a wonderful place to volunteer in Danbury, Connecticut, whether you are a group or an individual. We have long term volunteers who will attest to how their actions provide help and hope as they feed those in need at MG.
Volunteer opportunities are managed on the Volgistics website. When you choose to register a group or apply to volunteer, you will be redirected to the Volgistics website.
Volunteers 18 or older must complete Virtus training to volunteer more than once. Details provided during orientation.
Group Volunteers
- All groups must have a Lead Volunteer LEARN MORE.
- Prep and serve meals in our kitchen
- Help register new guests
- Help with replenishing shelves
- Help with clean up
- Monitor guests in our Dine In area

Individual Volunteers

Ways to Help
Food Services
- Cook or serve breakfast
- Help receive deliveries
- Stock shelves
- Label shelves and food items
- Organize a food drive
Special Projects
- Work with our program staff
- Organize church group projects
Offsite Opportunities
- Host a food or toiletry drive
- Make sandwich or snack bags
Special Events
- Decorate for the seasons & holidays
- Assist with Annual fundraisers
- Create a new event to help raise much needed funds
Communications
- Assist with out reach to local corporations, potential donors & service organizations
- Help prepare quarterly newsletter
- Stuff envelopes
- Work on public relations projects
- Place stories in local publications
Lead Volunteer Responsibilites
The Lead Volunteer Coordinator coordinates the group members. This includes:
- Keeping track of contact information & schedules
- Tracking any required training
- Communicating with the MG Program Staff
