Operating out of 11 Spring Street in Danbury, the Morning Glory Breakfast Program is conveniently located within the Dorothy Day Hospitality House. Morning Glory collaborates with other agencies to offer a safe and welcoming environment for those in need. Each day, we serve approximately 100 hot meals, totaling over 2,000 meals every month. There is no cost associated with meals or engagement with visiting agencies; all participation in services and programs remains completely voluntary.

Services

  • The Morning Glory Breakfast Program serves hot and cold breakfast to individuals in need within our community from 7:30 a.m. to 9:15 a.m.
  • In collaboration with Dorothy Day Hospitality House, we also provide indoor seating for clients picking up breakfast. Guests are welcomed into a warm, friendly, and safe environment to enjoy their meals in what was formerly the Dorothy Day shelter.
  • The Morning Glory Home Essentials Program provides non-food items that are not covered by SNAP benefits, including cleaning supplies, paper goods, and personal hygiene products Clients can schedule to pick up items every other month – scheduling will be organized by program manager.

    Hirio Flores De Leon

    Since joining Catholic Charities in June 2023, Hirio Flores De Leon has been an important part of our Morning Glory Breakfast team, serving as a dedicated Program Aide. He is passionate about his role and is known for his kindness toward our clients. He loves to cook and often comes up with new ideas on how we can better serve our community. His pride in the work he does is clear, and he considers it a blessing to be part of such a meaningful team effort. We are grateful to have Hirio as part of our Catholic Charities family and look forward to the many ways he will continue to bring care, warmth, and fresh ideas to the Morning Glory Breakfast Program.

    New Morning Glory Kitchen Equipment Helps Us Do What We Do Best

    Thanks to the generosity of our donors and partners, our kitchen just got a big upgrade! A new pancake griddle and freezer are helping us serve more meals than ever, up to 200 pancakes an hour! With continued food donations from Dorothy Day, we’re keeping our freezer stocked and our community fed. Helping our neighbors is what we do BEST!
