Charlie Coretto, LCSW, Director of New Outlook Counseling

Fairfield County, Connecticut – Catholic Charities of Fairfield County is thrilled to announce that our very own Director of New Outlook Counseling, Charles Coretto, LCSW, will be honored at Ability Beyond’s Autumn Breakfast on November 9th, 2023. Charlie is set to receive The Theresa Foss Memorial Award, recognizing his extraordinary dedication to the field of mental health and his service to the community.

The Theresa Foss Memorial Award is a tribute to the memory of Theresa Foss, known for her volunteerism, humility, and boundless compassion. Theresa’s legacy endures through this award, which is bestowed upon individuals who exemplify her spirit of selfless service and advocacy.

Charlie Coretto is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over two decades of experience in the mental health field, making him a distinguished leader in his profession. His journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Fordham University, followed by a Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Connecticut. After achieving LCSW licensure, Charlie embarked on a fulfilling career, providing assistance to individuals and families dealing with mental health challenges.

Throughout his career, Charlie honed his skills in various critical areas, including crisis intervention, family therapy, and substance abuse counseling. His deep understanding of the complexities of mental health has enabled him to develop innovative and effective treatment approaches tailored to each client’s unique needs.

As the Director of the Mental Health Counseling Program at Catholic Charities of Fairfield County, Charlie leads a dedicated team of mental health professionals, offering supervision, guidance, and unwavering support to ensure the delivery of exceptional care to those in need. Under his leadership, the program has expanded, enriching its range of services and positively impacting countless individuals and families in the community.

Charlie is also an active member of several professional organizations, where he advocates for policies promoting mental health awareness and access to care. He is a recognized expert in his field, frequently speaking at conferences and workshops, sharing his insights and inspiring others to join the cause.

Outside of his professional life, Charlie is an enthusiastic traveler and nature lover, finding inspiration and tranquility in the great outdoors.
