Catholic Charities of Fairfield County is committed to meeting the needs of our entire community, from the individuals served by our programs to the supporters that make our work possible. August is National Make-A-Will Month and when we learned that 67% of American adults don’t have a legal will, we knew this was an opportunity to address a need in our community.

Thanks to our partnership with FreeWill, members of our community can use this secure, online estate planning tool to write their legal will for free.

Why estate planning?

No matter what your “estate” includes, everyone needs a plan. Having a legal will in place is a powerful way to protect your loved ones, plan for your assets, and make important decisions on your own terms.

While you make your plans, you’ll also have the opportunity to include a gift in your will to Catholic Charities. These types of gifts cost nothing today but have a powerful impact on our efforts.

“The Senior Nutrition Program was incredibly fortunate to be remembered by one of our long time Meals On Wheels client through a generous bequest.  According to one of her relatives, the program was so critical to her ability to remain in her home that she felt very strongly about including the program in her will.  Senior Nutrition is planning to purchase two delivery vehicles with the donation and will recognize the client by including a tribute, including the client’s name on the trucks.”
