Catholic Charities of Fairfield County is teaming up with the Diocese of Bridgeport to distribute thousands of at-home COVID tests.
Catholic Charities of Fairfield County received a shipment of 20,000 at-home test kits from the state. Officials say 10,000 test kits were delivered last week and another 10,000 kits were delivered Thursday.
The kits are being split between Catholic Charities and the Diocese of Bridgeport.
Catholic Charities is handing out tests through its various programs, including at its soup kitchens and food pantries.
The Diocese of Bridgeport is giving test kits to its parishes, with a significant amount of tests going to inner-city churches.
Those in need of a test are asked to contact their parish or one of the Catholic Charities programs only if they have had a COVID-19 exposure or are showing symptoms.
