Vanessa M. Hernandez Gomez joined the Catholic Charities team on February 16, 2021. Vanessa received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Fordham University-Graduate School of Social Service in May 2018 with a concentration in Clinical Social Work & Community-based Practice & Leadership. Vanessa is bilingual. Fluent in Spanish and English. She is a member of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. Vanessa began her career in Social Work on December 2012 after graduating with her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Western Connecticut State University.

Before joining Catholic Charities, Vanessa worked in the Bronx, New York as a Clinical Supervisor at HELP USA Homeless Prevention Network, a national leader in providing permanent, transitional and homeless prevention services for those facing a housing crisis. After nine years of working in homeless prevention services, Vanessa decided that it was time to transition to a new role in counseling. As a Clinician at Catholic Charities, Vanessa provides short/long-term psychotherapy to children, adolescents, adults and families.
