The Immigration Team is a program of Catholic Charities that is recognized by the Board of Immigration Appeals of the Department of Justice. Mr. Alex Arevalo, Program Manager, is accredited by the same to represent clients before the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (the former INS) in matters of immigration.

The Immigration Services program provides affordable counseling and legal assistance to newcomers throughout Fairfield County regardless of race, religion, sex, creed or economic status. Catholic Charities Immigration Services provides consultation on immigration related problems, and accredited representation at USCIS Immigration appointments.

Service for the following is available by appointment: 

  • GREEN CARD (Lawful Permanent Residence)
  • FAMILY VISAS (Petitions/Adjustment of Status)
  • FAMILY UNITY (Legal Status for family members of U.S. Citizens and LPRs)
  • CASE STATUS INQUIRIES
  • CONDITIONAL RESIDENCE REMOVAL
  • U.S. CITIZENSHIP APPLICATION
  • TPS (TEMPORARY PROTECTED STATUS)
  • TRAVEL DOCUMENT (Re-entry permit/advanced parole)

“The masks provided by Bank of America have been a blessing for our staff and clients,” said Bill Colson, Director of the Thomas Merton Center. “Many clients were unable to not only find masks, but they also could not afford them. They were at risk. This donation not only helped to protect staff while they served the clients, but it also helped the clients to stay safe while out in the public.”

Catholic Charities 36 programs provide services throughout Fairfield County. Combined, they serve over 10,000 individuals in Fairfield County, Connecticut each year.
