Accounting and Donor Data Clerk

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated full-time (35 hours/week), benefits-eligible, Accounting and Donor Data Clerk to join our finance team and help us achieve our mission.

As the Accounting and Donor Data Clerk, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of donations and other financial transactions. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will help maintain the integrity of our financial records and support our mission-driven work.

Key Responsibilities:
• Process Donations: Accurately record and process all incoming cash receipts, including donations, private grants, and other forms of financial support and assist with generating donor acknowledgment letters.
• Data Entry: Enter donor demographic information and donation amount into Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge/Financial Edge NXT software systems. Maintain up-to-date records of transactions.
• Prepare Reports: Generate and prepare financial reports related to cash receipts for internal administrative and programmatic use.
• Assist with Audits: Provide necessary documentation and support during internal and external audits.
• Customer Service: Address and resolve any inquiries related to donations or financial transactions in a professional and courteous manner.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and relevant regulations related to financial transactions.

Experience, Skills and Qualifications required:
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in accounting, finance or related field preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of two years’ experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably within a nonprofit organization.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent organization and time-management skills, and proficiency in accounting software (requires Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge experience).
• Communication: Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with staff, donors, and other stakeholders.
• Integrity: High level of accuracy and ethical standards in handling financial transactions.
