Special Education Assistant Teacher/ABA Therapist (part-time)

Room to Grow (RTG) preschool, a program of Catholic Charities located in Norwalk, CT is seeking a part-time (20 hours/week) Special Education Assistant Teacher/ABA Therapist to begin immediate employment. RTG is a state-licensed and nationallyaccredited facility that provides high-quality care and education for children ages three-to-five years old who reside in Norwalk.

Responsibilities:

• Planning, implementing and evaluating child development experiences for special needs children.
• Supporting and advocating for families.
• Planning and implementing a safe, diverse and developmentally appropriate program for individual children within the classroom in accordance with all State and local regulations and policies.

Experience required:

• Bachelors’ degree in early childhood special education, child development or human development, or a two or four-year degree in a related field with a least two years’ experience in Special Education ECE.
• Candidates should have experience in developmentally appropriate practices and working knowledge of CT-ELDS (Connecticut Early Learning Development Standards), NAEYC, and DPH/ OEC licensing and a desire to continue their education.
• Minimum two (2) years’ experience at a licensed child day care center/preschool that meets standards comparable to those in Connecticut and/or experience in group care for special education children three-to-five years old.
