We are seeking a full-time, benefits-eligible, Grant Accountant to work in our Finance Department, located in Bridgeport, CT. This position will work alongside the VP, Finance, preparing reporting and analysis to accommodate grantor/sponsor requirements, as well as mitigating risks of non-compliance and identifying and addressing internal control issues.

Responsibilities include:

  • Detailed pre-award review of proposal budgets and management of post-award administration of grants.
  • Preparation of monthly, quarterly and year-end accounting entries and financial reports for all grants.
  • Coordination of cash management functions for all grants including preparation of reimbursement requests, drawdowns of funds and billing.
  • Ensuring that grant funds are expended in compliance with granting agency regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • Three-to-five years of experience in an accounting-related role, preferably in a compliance capacity.
  • Former grant management experience is highly preferred.
