Catholic Charities of Fairfield County, Inc. has sponsored the Senior Nutrition Program for more than 37 years serving over 400 elderly individuals on a daily basis. We provide nutritious meals, through home delivery and at Senior Community Café sites, to low-income individuals, 60 years and older. There is a suggested donation to help cover the meal costs.
The Meals On Wheels program satisfies the nutritional needs of the homebound elderly and disabled by providing a well balanced meal and a safety check. A variety of therapeutic menu options are offered to help promote and maintain good health. Deliveries are made Monday – Friday and weekend meals may be provided.
Community Café Program
Congregate meals are offered at 8 meal sites throughout lower Fairfield County. Seniors benefit from dining in a group setting coupled with options to participate in activities ranging from Bingo to Tai Chi. Café Sites are open Monday – Friday.

James started out as a congregate program recipient, then became the President of the Senior Nutrition Program Advisory Council for numerous terms. He has utilized a consortium of our services over the years and currently is Home Delivered meal recipient. Here is his story.
“I am an 83 year old male who is currently home-bound and 100% disabled . Without Senior Nutrition Program and home care I could not manage. My doctors do not want me near a stove! The Senior Nutrition meals are well balanced and I am not able to count calories. I could not manage without Catholic Charities Senior Nutrition Program. The program delivers the meals in all kind of weather, snow, sleet, rain or hail. God Bless the Senior Nutrition Program.”
