2014 Catholic Charities / AETNA Golf Classic & Lobster Fest SPONSORSHIP

On June 30, 2014, Catholic Charites & AETNA are hosting the 2014 Golf Classic & Lobster Fest. It is the single most important fundraising event for the agency as it raises revenue for ALL of the program services we provide. In order to make the event a true success, the planning committee is seeking sponsors at ALL levels. On June 30th, 2014, Catholic Charities & AETNA are hosting the 2014 Golf Classic & Lobster Fest to benefit ALL program services provided by Catholic Charities. Your registration includes 18 holes of golf ( best ball format including cart), lunch, cocktail hour, open bar, and a New England Lobster Fest. The event will take place at Shorehaven Golf Club in Norwalk overlooking the Long Island Sound. Register here for individual golfers and foursomes, but additional sponsorship opportunities are available above to increase the benefits of your package. Don't golf? That's fine! We wouldn't want you to miss out on the fun. Join us for the post-golf festivities at the 2014 Catholic Charities/AETNA Lobster Fest. Join us for an open bar cocktail hour at 5PM where you will be greeted by our Honorary Event Chairman, Bishop Frank Caggiano. Then enjoy a full New England Lobster Bake where you can bid on our  exciting live auction prizes or take a chance in our expansive raffle while basking in the view of the Long Island Sound. On Thursday, May 22, 2014, Catholic Charities will host a Celebrity Breakfast to benefit the Thomas Merton Center. The event will take place at the Holiday Inn in Downtown Bridgeport from 7:30-9:00 AM and will feature guest speaker Cindi Bigelow.

Program Description

 

Catholic Charities of Fairfield County provides Disaster Case Management Services for the residents of the State of Connecticut. The Catholic Charities Disaster Case Management Program works directly with the Connecticut Office of Emergency Management and partner agencies. Catholic Charities of Fairfield County provides ongoing case management for the 75 miles of shoreline families, as well as the residents throughout the state, recovering from Superstorm Sandy. While many short-term goals following this massive storm have been addressed, Catholic Charities is focusing on helping families with long-term case management needs to rebuild their homes and their lives. Catholic Charities is now an active member of CTVOAD and the Long Term Recovery Groups throughout the State that try to meet the needs of the communities while assisting residents to reach their new normal.

    





One Client's Story

 

A resident of Washington Village (Norwalk, CT), mother of 3 and in her first trimester, was on total bed rest during Hurricane Sandy. Since she was incapacitated, she missed the opportunity to receive local assistance and was not aware of the potential FEMA assistance available. Just recently, the client was referred to Catholic Charities by another agency that could not assist because they only work with clients registered with FEMA. Catholic Charities can assist clients not registered with FEMA. A disaster case manager met with the client and after an assessment uncovered the need for a refigerator, stove and a kitchen table with chairs. Catholic Charities was an open door to an otherwise closed matter. There are so many others who need our help.
